Trendy bags

These trendy bags are new at my shop redtailcreations.etsy.com. They come in reversable or with pockets. Come take a look!

Penny rugs

OK, so I have been on this kick... a mission of sorts to create a Penny rug. For those of you who are not familiar with them they are small rugs for your table or counter. They are traditionally made out of wool felt. They intreaged me...I was smitten after seeing my first one. And for those that know me....I will never buy something I can make myself. LOL So I set out to find wool felt. This material is very elusive! My local craft store only has regular wool, not felt and the only place I can find this elusive material is on the internet. So I bought some pieces off of ebay. But they are only 9" x 12". These pieces are not big enough for the base as I came to find out.

The lady at the local craft store told me i should use real wool not felt. And of course they didn't have black which I was looking for. (sigh) So she told me I should go look at the thrift stores for wool skirts, a great idea if you can find them in spring!

After searching and searching and searching, I found one. A black one. It only cost me 4 bucks! So I cut it down and got to work! And this is my progress so far...
